Blog Lengua Inglesa III and IV (Daniel Abellán)

Working on a blog all the subject has been a good experience although we have done it before. It makes everything easier since you are able to express yourself with no hurry, you can search information, improve your knowledge and practice your writing skills. The blog’s themes have been appropriate for the classes at the same time that entertaining. However, I find quite easy to forget the blog and accumulate work; nevertheless, the blog’s entries are made to inspire you so you cannot stop writing. The only think I dislike is the last question of all the entries that ask us to write what we have done that week to improve our English; I do the same all weeks so I cannot write too much. Sometimes I do new things but I always practice the same way so I find the question a little hard to answer. Finally, it is cool to do this kind of activities as they are more funny that we normally do at college so I thank you that.

I find quite interesting this web although I do not completely share the idea that colours have to mean something. We choose colours regarding our liking and it does not necessary mean that if I wear something blue I am sad or if I wear something red I am full of energy. Nevertheless, I understand the connections between the colours and their meanings. This picture by Picasso is one of his many works in blue, he even had an era called ‘Blue’ because he only used this colour. In the picture we admire a lonely man eating with a sad figure. The colour blue is only broken in the bread and the drink. The rest of the picture is full of different tones of blue. From my point of view, the use of the blue gives the picture sensibility and depth, but also sadness.  

The last film I have watched is casually my favourite one: The Hunger Games. So it is going to be truly easy to do a review about it. Understanding this film is quite easy since it is stripped down; it is a critic against dictatorial governments. However, to make it more popular, there is a love triangle; although the film does not focus on it at all. The films of The Hunger Games came from a saga of books written by Suzanne Collins. One of the best thing about this film is that it respect the book in a sense and do not lose the magic of it. The story follows the main character Katniss Everdeen in her way to the games. 12 districts placed around the Capitol have to send one boy and one girl among 12-18 years old to fight to death in a televised arena due to a past revolution. However, Katniss is ready to change the rules of the games and challenge the capitol and its dictator. The films follow this storyline until it is resolved in an incredible final. Report from http://www.wright.edu/~david.wilson/eng3000/samplereport.pdf In a report, we see formal language (full form of verbs, high- level vocabulary) in order to inform the reader by a research. It contains lots of information, statistics and references. Starting with the purpose of the report, you must continue with numbered points so you can follow your ideas in an organised way. In a proposal, the aim is to convince the reader to start new activities. It is less formal than the report. You have to be more creative in a proposal, suggesting with arguments, than in a report, in which you are supposed to inform with facts.

I love Italy, that is why I would like to live there when I am older. I hope that in the future I will be wealthy enough to afford living there. I consider Italy the most beautiful country of the world; its monuments, people and atmosphere is breathtaking. I have been in Italy only once I cannot wait to be back; I went to Venice, Rome and Florence but I am okay with a cheaper place. In addition, I rather live in a small city than living in a big one, but it depends on several things. Nevertheless, things changes fast and so does the future so I do not know where I am going to live and how I am going to be when I am 50. I also love cities such as Madrid, where my mother lived until she was 9. I have been there several times I would like to live here. I would love to live in London or in UK in general as I am studying English and is the language I want to talk every day.
